GINSPIRATION

Brief: Bombay Sapphire, the unique blue bottled gin…the name originates from the popularity of gin in India during the British Raj and “Sapphire” refers to the violet-blue Star of Bombay on display at the Smithsonian Institution. The team at Bombay wanted to create a cool, vibrant space during the Fringe Festival in Edinburgh for people to enjoy a G&T or a gin cocktail in the sun…and so the Bombay Terrace was born.

Strategy: The venue had a plain white pop-up bar. To make this look “Bombay” it needed to be fully wrapped in blue vinyl and branded up with the logo and font. The colour needed to be vibrant to stand out and it needed to be clear that it was a gin bar. The menus were to be high-end and designed and printed on sophisticated high quality papers as well as having branded glassware, branded throws and branded parasols to give it a real gin terrace vibe.

Result: The Bombay Terrace was full to capacity every night of the Festival with gin lover’s galore filling every seat. The brand were delighted with the activation and the social media accounts gained huge traction. Overall the activation was a roaring success and the visibility was immense.
